A gift for her

Whether you say it a lot, or only on occassion
it's something every girlfriend/wife/partner should know & feel every day...
Love
That thing that makes the world spin around.

Look at this adorable pendant from Argent of London
Based on a vintage design, the spinning disc spells out a hidden inscription of those 3 special words...
And since true love stories are neverending, this little spinning pendant encapsulates this truth perfectly
in a unique keepsake that can be worn close to your heart.
Everyday.

Old friends, Gluhwein & Merriment!

One of the best things about Edinburgh at Christmas time is the German Christmas market in Princes St gardens.  Ok, so it's not quite the same as wandering around in the markets in Suisse, but it's still pretty good for our lil' old city.  It is authentic - run by stall holders from Frankfurt- and sells all the traditional foods, drink and christmassy gifts, set against the beautiful backdrop of the white-lit castle and the twinkly scattered trees.  The city becomes kind of magical & it makes christmas shopping so much more fun, when you know you can just warm up with a toasty cup of Glühwein at the end of a long, & sometimes unsuccessful, shopping day.  I try & avoid Princes St at the best of times, but Christmas time  gives it a whole new feel & just makes you wanna grab your mitts & holen Sie sich Ihre jingle auf!

But when we do meet up its always good fun catching up with everyones news, sharing all the yummy food and drink & of course, laughing lots!

We've done this A LOT through the years!  Cheeeeers.......

Happy tuesday!

December in Scotland

Since coming back to Edinburgh at the start of the month, december has been nothing short of busy, busy, busy! It's been great getting to see so many friends and spending time with family, & it's keeping me from getting down about being so far away from my precious fiancé, who is all alone during this month of love & togetherness :(  I miss him like crazy (call me a wuss.  I am)

Kicking off the festivities was the annual christmas drinks soiree that my friends host each year where they always serve the best mulled wine that I usually drink glass upon glass of.  This year they actually cooked an amazing meal for everyone too.  It was such a nice welcome back.

I then celebrated my mums 60th with the whole family.  Me and my sibs had treated her to a spa weekend away in a hotel and then we spent a day in St Andrews where we surprised her with afternoon tea at the Fairmont.  She had a wonderful time.  My mum has never been the kind to spoil herself: she never books manicures or goes for facials; never goes shopping spontaneously or spends extravagantly, etc. etc.  So, when she does get treated to things she really truly appreciates it from the bottom of her heart.  The gratitude you receive makes it worth while x 1,000000 & makes me want to just spoil her all the time.  No one is more deserving of it.

Christmas Wishlist

First off, my blog has been pretty quiet of recent, mainly due to the fact that I've been busy unpacking my life over in Abu Dhabi {for those who weren't aware, and because I'm not up to date on blogging -and because I am totally disorganised - I now live in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the U.A.E; 5780 kilometres and a 7.5 hour plane journey from my hometown of Edinburgh}  But more on that later.

To get back into the swing of things I thought I would start with a nice cheer-me-up Christmas wishlist.  This will be the first of many that I am going to be blogging weekly on the countdown to christmas, because lets face it, everyone loves a wishlist!  It gets us *mentally* through the day sometimes, especially if you're day involves sitting at a desk, under a mountain of deadlines, when it gets dark at 4 and you still have 2 hours left before it's hometime & you have to face the freezing cold temperatures outside.  Does this sound like you?

Anyway, here are some things that i've been lusting after lately.  Some of it is purely fanciful, like the £250 Miu Miu studded iPad case, half the cost of an actual iPad,  but it wouldn't be called a wish list if there wasn't some 'wishful' things on it, now would it...?!

Whats on your wishlist this year?
