December in Scotland

Since coming back to Edinburgh at the start of the month, december has been nothing short of busy, busy, busy! It's been great getting to see so many friends and spending time with family, & it's keeping me from getting down about being so far away from my precious fiancĂ©, who is all alone during this month of love & togetherness :(  I miss him like crazy (call me a wuss.  I am)

Kicking off the festivities was the annual christmas drinks soiree that my friends host each year where they always serve the best mulled wine that I usually drink glass upon glass of.  This year they actually cooked an amazing meal for everyone too.  It was such a nice welcome back.

I then celebrated my mums 60th with the whole family.  Me and my sibs had treated her to a spa weekend away in a hotel and then we spent a day in St Andrews where we surprised her with afternoon tea at the Fairmont.  She had a wonderful time.  My mum has never been the kind to spoil herself: she never books manicures or goes for facials; never goes shopping spontaneously or spends extravagantly, etc. etc.  So, when she does get treated to things she really truly appreciates it from the bottom of her heart.  The gratitude you receive makes it worth while x 1,000000 & makes me want to just spoil her all the time.  No one is more deserving of it.

Can you believe it's only 12 days left until Christmas?
