H.O.T.T. Hair Trends

Hair is the new.... Black.  What?!

Besides the clothes, hair has been a major player on the catwalk these past couple of seasons.

Fashion houses & celebrities alike have been parading an array of  desirable styles that are lasting through the seasons and proving popular because they are, I believe & for once, easy to emulate and not-so-crazy that you can actually wear them under normal circumstances.

So if you're looking for some inspiration for your next crop or just a style for an upcoming event, then I suggest you take a look at these drool-worthy styles.  Who needs a hair-stylist on call?!!

UPDO's
{The oh-so-pretty Chignon}
Always a great wedding look I think.
Worn high, low, to the side, loose, or neat and tight - it works beautifully every time.

{The Top Knot}
Whether you wear it neat & soft for that fresh faced ballerina look,
 or 'girl-next-door', messy & deconstructed a-la Katie & Diane, this look is totally fuss free.
{Bo frequently calls me 'top knot' as i'm always doing this now}

{Romantic/ Ethereal}
Front twists & tousled bouffant up-do's are plain, yet perfect for letting a great outfit shine or
showing off some killer earrings.
Side plaits & halo plaits are romantic, bohemian, beautiful, cool!
*LOVE Blake*
SHORT CROP
These looks are for the bold & daring:  cute pixie crops look great on slight people with
great bone structure & if you want a more edgy look you can channel ERW with a voluminous
side swept fringe.
THE BOB
Midi:: Shoulder length:: Long
Sleek & stylish:: Natural & minimalist:: Hollywood glam:: Vintage ringlet

Choppy, layered & textured:: Cute & edgy:: Sleek & effortless:: Long & glossy.
LONG
Think long hair is boring?  Think again.
There are so many *amazing* ways to style long hair...
See?!!
Tamed curls:: Glossy waves:: 70's hippie/rock:: Beachy boho
Pinned to the side is an easy way add a bit of panache to long locks: all you need is a kirbi! {Something which I often take to after a long night out}  A strong centre parting, mussed up (like Gwyneth) is sometimes all you need for that undone look.  Loose & swept back is demure: 70's 'Charlies Angel' flicks are retro.
*did I mention I looove Blake?*
Side swept cascading curls for party glam::  Sleek, modern & low maintenance::
Voluminous roots & bouncy barrel curls:: Classic 40's vintage waves
PLAITS
Of course!
Plaits have been mega in the last 2 years.  Everyone from Alexander Wang to Antonio Marras to Miu Miu to McQueen used them on the runway & subsequently the rest of us followed suit.
Chunky, slim or braided: all are cute & so simple.
This way is my fave:  loose, disheveled & effortless.
Perfect!
PONYTAILS
The sectioned ponytail - THIS one I want to try.  It looks great with the blunt fringe.  Just band... & pull!
The simple ponytail scraped back is cute & practical {how I wear my hair on a daily basis
now that I live in subtropic temperatures}.
OR you could go for the low, not-too-groomed ponytail.  Tied at the nape of the neck with some volume at the crown is the ultimate in understated glamour I think. :)

HAPPY WEEKEND!
